About

Jennifer Kolodinsky

It was a lightning bolt moment that drew me to become a mediator. Early on in my professional life, as a Children and Families Counselor in the child abuse and neglect system, I experienced mediation for the first time. I was immediately taken with it, as I saw people making progress through very difficult circumstances due to the power of people talking, guided by a mediator. I knew then that I would one day do this work and have been practicing mediation for 19 years.

I am passionate about facilitating peace to as many people and environments as I can. My practice focuses on the different environments we all belong to: family, work, and community. Like you, I want more peace in every area of life, and to help others attain that.

The power of communication to work out our problems is incredible. Mediation will help you create solutions that resolve your differences, and lead to better outcomes for you, your family, your workplace, and your community.

It was a lightning bolt moment that drew me to become a mediator. Early on in my professional life, as a Children and Families Counselor in the abuse and neglect system, I experienced mediation for the first time. I was immediately taken with it, as I saw people making progress through very difficult circumstances due to the power of people talking, guided by a mediator. I knew then that I would one day do this work, and in January of 1999, that became a reality.

I am passionate about the well-being of children and their families. My practice primarily focuses on parenting time following divorce or separation, as well as private dependency (child abuse and neglect) cases.  As a former social worker and teacher, I also work to resolve employee and agency conflicts in social service and educational agency contexts, as I understand the missions of these organizations and how to connect with the people who work toward them. Community concerns, such as neighbor disagreements, are also important to me as we all seek to make Flagstaff a more peaceful place to live.

As an active member of the community, I volunteered for many years in our local schools, including a number of leadership positions in the Parent Teacher Organization, facilitated free parenting classes, and currently chair the Outreach Committee at my church.

The power of communication to work out our problems is incredible. In my role as mediator, I will help you talk about your conflict in a respectful and calm environment, and help you create solutions that resolve your differences and benefit your children and/or community.

My goal is to help relieve the stress and tension of your current situation, and bring you hope that better days are ahead.
