About

Jennifer Kolodinsky

It was a lightning bolt moment that drew me to become a mediator. Early on in my professional life, as a Children and Families Counselor in the abuse and neglect system, I experienced mediation for the first time. I was immediately taken with it, as I saw people making progress through very difficult circumstances due to the power of people talking, guided by a mediator. I knew then that I would one day do this work, and now have 19 years’ experience.

I am passionate about the well-being of children and their families. My practice focuses on parenting time following divorce or separation, as well as private dependency (child abuse and neglect) cases.  As a former social worker and teacher, I also work to resolve organizational conflicts in social service and educational agency contexts, as I understand the missions of these organizations and how to connect with the people who work toward them. Community concerns, such as neighbor disagreements, are also important to me as we all seek to make Flagstaff a more peaceful place to live.

As an active member of the community, I volunteered for many years in our local schools, including a number of leadership positions in the Parent Teacher Organization, facilitated free parenting classes, and currently chair the Outreach Committee at my church.

The power of communication to work out our problems is incredible. In my role as mediator, I will help you talk about your conflict in a respectful and calm environment, and help you create solutions that resolve your differences and benefit your children and/or community.
